A message from Christie
When my sister Carol was diagnosed with breast cancer, I felt so helpless not knowing how to help her. It was hard watching her go through the entire process but I was truly amazed by her strenghth and courage. With every new treatment phase I would say over and over, "I could never do that!"
But eleven months after her journey began I too heard those terrifying words, "I'm so sorry, you have breast cancer." Carol was there every step of the way. It was comforting to know I could ask her questions and get first hand knowledge.

A message from Carol
December 9, 2011 was the day that I heard those words “I’m sorry, you have breast cancer”. It is at that point that the world seems to stop and you get that PUNCH right in the gut. It is a mind-blowing time in a person’s life. At first, you just feel numb. As they lead you from one test to the next and from one doctor to the next, you are on autopilot.
July 25, 2013, I finished my radiation treatments. I've met the most compassionate people and have been blessed by this experience. This website is just the beginning of my new purpose in life.

Then, November 1, 2012, my sister, Christie, was diagnosed with breast cancer. She took such good care of me during my journey, now it was my turn to be there for her.
In December 2012, I was deemed cancer-free . . . in remission! My own journey was documented on my blog www.livinginthemoment-carol.blogspot.com and after 1-1/2 years after my diagnosis, my blog posts are getting fewer and far between. What do I write about now? It’s not so much about me anymore and that is just perfectly fine.
It is our hope that we can share our experiences with you, provide you with resources, encourage-ment, comfort ideas, and most of all prayer.
